Physical Therapy

Utilizing dedicated therapy gyms, Bridgeway Therapy Center’s licensed physical therapists and physical therapy assistants are committed to providing the most current, evidence-based physical therapy practices to assess strength, range of motion, posture, gait, stair skills, balance, coordination, endurance, and ball skills. This assessment helps to determine any functional limitations that may lead to deficits in functional mobility and functional activities limiting participation in the child’s natural environment. Our physical therapists provide services to patients with diagnoses that include: autism, PDD-NOS, ADHD, apraxia, ataxia, autoimmune disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Dravet syndrome, congenital shortened femur, 5p minus (Cri du Chat), dyspraxia, FG syndrome, fragile X syndrome, microcephaly, mitochondrial disease, peripheral neuropathy, sensory processing disorder, traumatic brain injury, tuberous sclerosis, and Williams syndrome. Treatment programs can include therapeutic exercise, therapeutic activity, gait/running/stair training, balance training, neuromuscular re-education, aerobic conditioning, stretching, and orthotic recommendations. Treatment sessions consist of play-based interventions that are functional for the child.

We offer Therapy Center appointments during the following hours:
Monday: Thursday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (last appointment begins at 5:15 pm)
Friday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm (last appointment begins at 1:15 pm)
Sessions usually last 45 minutes and are scheduled according to therapists’ availability

Therapeutic Environments:

• Individual therapy
• Dyads
• Co-treatments with OT, Speech, Music, and Psychology
• Small groups

Assistance in the recommendation of orthotics, braces, DME (walkers, wheelchairs, standers, strollers, etc.), and community resources.

Volunteer Opportunities and Clinical Rotations for DPT Students

Bridgeway Therapy Center welcomes high school and undergraduate students who are interested in volunteering in the Physical Therapy Department as well as physical therapy graduate students completing a clinical rotation as part of a Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
